On 7 October 2024, Prof. Adonis Bogris from the University of West Attica (UWA) represented QPIC1550 at the 1st Photonics Hellenic SympOSium (PHOS), a national clustering event dedicated to highlighting Greece’s photonics research and innovation landscape. The symposium took place at the Foundation of Research and Technology Hellas, in Heraklion Crete, Greece, and brought together leading academic and industry stakeholders to explore developments in photonics for computing, communications, sensing, and security.

During Session 1, Prof. A. Bogris delivered a talk titled Photonics for computing, communications, sensing and security – RNCP lab activities where he presented an overview of his research group’s work, including their contributions to QPIC1550. The presentation specifically emphasized how quantum technologies are being harnessed within the project to enable accurate sensing and clock synchronization in next-generation telecommunication networks. The participation of QPIC1550 at PHOS underscores the project’s relevance in the national photonics ecosystem and highlights its role in pushing forward the frontiers of quantum photonic integration for real-world applications.
